Throttle linkage ball/socket ends Replacement Needed
Hello All,
Where can I get replacement linkage socket ends? The one from the cruise control is worn on mine. I get play in the linkage and it is very noticeable when going down a slight downgrade the cruise control searches (surges) to apply the correct fuel flow. It's ok on the the flat and climb (on power condition). Thanks

I would just order them from the dealer, they're probably cheap.

Just got one for my "91 2.5, less than I thought it would be. The one that's non adjustable was $8 from the dealer. Adjustable I'm sure is a little more.

I agree, the dealer is cheaper than you would think in linkage parts.

Polymer film to the rescue.
Got a price over the phone. $15 and change they thought I was a dealer/repair house asked abut my tax ID.I'll stop by later.
Right now I've done a temp fix utilizing polymer film to fill some of the play in the linkage. It's made a noticeable improvement but there is still some play in the linkage assembly past the first linkage. I'll look it over and make some more adjustments (figure out whats loose). Not sure how long the polymer film will last. I'll try to provide some feedback. This high quality polymer film came from the food industry. (Its a snickers wrapper trimmed and folded to fit over the ball thats in the socket). It what I had available. Necessity is the mother of invention.
