W123 front seat - can you slide seat off rail?
I bought a seat from a W126 at Pull-a-Part today and I have my passenger front seat out. I would like to swap JUST the seats and reuse my old rail - is that possible? I can not figure out how to get the seat off the rail - there are some phillips head screws???
Anyone got any advice? Thanks. Ryan

The rails are secured to the seat box with screws. You need to adjust the rails as needed to align the access holes for the screw heads.

Ive done this, 3 per side IIRC, phillips on the 126, allen or torx on the w123,
You will have to wire up a rear reclining switch, but its all bolt in EDIT: Use a 12V battery and wires to move the W126 seat to access all the screws

Thanks for the replies, but I had to go another direction. Upon closer inspection, the new seat had a couple of busted springs, so I thought I would try just replacing the seat cover. Wasn't easy but I got it done and it looks much better.
