Compression help
I was looking through the paperwork I got with my car recently. I got most of the service record detailing the work done to the car when I purchased it.
I noticed that there was a service where they did a compression test. It was about 24k miles previous, and it simply stated that the car had 300's all the way across. Is this normal? How often would I do this type of test?

my understanding (and I'm no expert)
As I understand it a brand new engine would be 400 to 425 range on all cylinders. Anything below 200 makes for hard to impossible starting. So 300 or so, especially on all cylinders sounds like 100s of k miles left.
You'd only need it tested if you have starting, power, etc problems to exclude lack of compression as a possible issue.
