looks kinda weird but is better than a useless passenger side mirror. I wonder what my .CD is now. I still want a drivers side block off plate if possible.

the front is a frign brick. I must have scrapped off a million love bugs. I went through a few clouds of them yesturday and my windshield was covered in the remains of them. Plus my wiper fluid bottle leaks!.. so, driving was somewhat a challenge due to my ADD and trying to play connect the dots with dead bugs on the windscreen.

I love my brick with wheels

Looks kind of lobsided that way.

Hatterasguy 05-25-2008 11:52 AM

Looks like some kid came by and took it off.:D;)

lutzTD 05-25-2008 12:01 PM

how abut a picture of the side? what does the cover plate look like?

daw_two 05-25-2008 12:20 PM

agreed; looks like your brick is lobsided. I use to live in Orlando and know all about those "love bugs". I often reminded my wife, but it didn't help.:D

Do you need a windshield washer tank that doesn't leak?

Passenger-side mirrors are only useless if you are like most of the population and point it straight back. You don't need to see the door handles (they're still there, trust me) and you can already see straight back with the inside mirror. Point the mirror further out so you can see the next lane.

I use the passenger side mirror and would never consider removing it.

Yep, and here's the proper way to aim those mirrors.

Yeah, lopsided. I do like the headlights, though.

I frequently use my right side mirror, which is properly adjusted to see the lane to the right. Besides, I don't like the "single mirror" look.

Griot's garage makes a product called "bug off" and I am going to try it next week sometime when I get it. Ill let you know how it works.

You can add convex lenses to both sides, then they are really nice. You may get a ticket for missing the wing mirrors. Of course for photoshoots that is different.

The w124 with the rectangle and square mirror always throws off the symmetry, but we know why they did it.

Can I have your passenger mirror? :D

You can have my block-off plate.

I use the right side mirror ALL THE TIME, the 240 doesn't have one and I'm on the hunt for one. Its so easy for a motorcycle (or even a miata) to hide in your blind spot. My old GF didn't use her right side mirror and turned around every time she changed lanes to the right. It made mecringe every time and once she almost ran over a tire in the road because she had to look behind her for a second. I'd pick something less functional to remove...which, refreshingly, there's not much of on these cars.

Most folks without a passenger mirror pay semi-handsomely in order to get one. And you seem to be pleased to have removed yours. Well, you've always been kind of a "different guy" on here, but not in a bad way. But that looks just awful compared to mirrors on both sides. Symmetry is a wonderful thing.........

Isn't it funny how different we are? I drove my 1977 300D for several years without a right side mirror as that is the way it came. I complaining to my Mechanic about the lack of a right side mirror. Within a couple of months he produced a manual right side mirror. Now I'm my kind of happy.

Right on.
Why would you want to remove it??
