Engine mounts/shocks next.. need suggestion
The next job I have lined up in August is to cure the engine shakes. I know for sure the mounts need replaced since they simply look gnarly and the PO of 12 years never touched them- plus a good couple of weeks of dripping fuel dripping from the old primer pump last year, heh.
Now what I'm wondering is, do the shock mounts/bushings typically need done as well? If this is something able to be left alone it would save me a good $120. If I were to do everything on my mind- mounts, shocks, shock mounts/bushings, heat shields, plus paying my friend for use of his tools and equipment I'm looking at $400 for this project ... Not so doable for someone who has a hospital, 2 doctor's offices and the IRS yelling at me for thousands of dollars. But hey, if I didn't have a car they would for sure not see a nickel because I couldn't get to work! Or is it acceptable to do all this over a period of time? Mounts and heat shields this check, shocks the next, etc. Just wondering, Geoff
