Or some sort of fix. It broke just above injector. I have no idea how this happens.

Found 1 at dealer in Nashville. $90 w/overnight ship, its on the way.

Can I block off the #4 injector pump with cap nut and drive on 5 cylinders for a few days? Or will that damage something ?

Dont do it, it could damage the injection pump. Try to attach a piece of rubber tubing to the line and route it to the ruturn side of the fuel system.

Injector line pressures are too high to contain in rubber hose. That's why they're metal to begin with. I suppose not having backpressure from the injector will mean much reduced pressures for the rubber hose. Still could get messy at higher rpms.

You can use the #4 line from any 60x engine if there are wrecking yards near you.

The usual cause of injector line failures is inadequate clamping. Make sure the line clamps and spacers are in place and functioning. Overtightening can stress the flare and cause the line to come apart right at the fitting.

you might beable to get away with filling a hose with jbweld, and then claming it to the line, when the jbweld hardens it will make everything 10x stronger. worth a shot.

Agreed. The pressure will rise to the level of the return line pressure.........effectively negligible. You don't even need to clamp it.

Thanks guys. What a mess. I tried to just put a small rubber hose on end of broken line and plug it off with a screw. That worked until about 1100rpm, at which point the screw and 200psi of hot diesel shot out into the front window of autozone like a diesel mazel tof cocktail. Gave up and drove rest of way home (30 miles) squirting $4.50/gal diesel out the #4 hard line (thinking to self whole time, dont I make more $ than this?). Guess my engine needed a clean anyways ...

So the benz will sit inthe garage smelling like someone knifed the bottom of dino tank until tues, at which point the new hardline gets here from a nashville dealer. These things are hard to find. The dealer in Atlanta said they dont make them anymore, and "Germany would have to build 1 specially for me". Ebay came up nil too.

Note to self : buy a 617 next time. 1st wrecker yard I went to had 3 123's, 1 of them had the hard lines already disconnected and sitting on top of head. Nada 124 diesels (plenty of gassers tho).

I will be damn sure to reconnect the new line with the clips, properly. I think I had it in there crooked from 1 of my many hack attempts at R&R the glows taking off the stupid intake mani (see 617 note x 2)

Call Enterprise?? Hahaha. I am smarter than to count on this as my ONLY car. Time to throw battery charger on track Corrado and figure out how to jam kids car seats in back.
