Colin, you should alter your route to start by shooting up the east coast first.

There are plenty of forum members along the way and if you make it to PA you could stop by.

I think you guys are stalking me, because thats EXACTLY what I am doing!! How far from Reading or Pittsburgh are you?

I will scan my written out schedule of dates for where I am going to be and when I am going to be there. I still need to sit down with my road map and actually map it all out, but so far I am going up the East Coast, across the Midwest and the Western states, down California, and then across the southern states. The only states I need places to stay in are along the south, otherwise I'll be doing a lot of camping!!

I'm so glad you're happy with him...

The issue with the glow light popped up when I pulled the instrument cluster for the first time. I reinstalled everything twice, but no glow light. Also, the clock only works when the ignition is not turned. Perhaps its a simple ground issue, but I couldn't find anything.

Being a flatlander, using the parking brakes in an automatic is unusual for me, so I never noticed that problem.

The tail light should clean right off. I can't believe I didn't do that... (Bear in mind that is from many years of buildup, and lack of a valve adjustment)

Norm looks better in the Florida sunlight, or perhaps its your camera. He seems different...

Colin is planning on staying in Wichita at some point, then I may follow him through Colorado, and stay at the ski house. I'm curious how Norm will do summiting Vail pass (10,000 feet) with a butt load of veggie oil. I have a feeling it will be slow and steady...

I'm about an hour from Reading towards Philadelphia and 5 hours East of Pittsburgh.

I am very pleased that Norm has landed with such a grateful and enthusiastic owner. Norm needs some consoling since Tyler just discarded him like last weeks trash!!

I really got a kick out of your reflection with "thumbs up"! Awesome pic!!!
I hope you make it down Texas way during your excursion. I would love to see Ol' Norm in person and meet his new owner.
Enjoy that fine wagon.......

Jimmy is still pretty sore at me. Hopefully our friendship survives...

The American Flag Keychain came from the previous owner. Its made out of pewter, kind of odd.

Yeah I can live without the glow light, but I might just fix it as something to do (if I can figure it out!). Also I might hit the junk yard and see if I can find the little "plate" that's missing on the right side of the cluster. And yeah I noticed the clock only said 12:00 when I got it, so I reset it. Didn't notice that it wasn't turning when he was running! Might have to get my hands dirty with that one too I'm happy I bought that Haynes manual now!!!

Yeah I never really use the parking brake all that much either, I was just playing with everything and noticed that on the first click of the parking brake it lights up, but not after that! It might also be a "simple" fix.

I have some really heavy duty degreaser I'm going to hit that reverse light with, should clean it right off!

Awesome! I'm going to be in Reading for a day, so maybe I can trek up and pay you a visit. I can't imagine there is much to do in Reading!

Thank you! Norm will get lots of love over the next few weeks, don't worry haha. And don't be too harsh on Tyler! He "recycled" him, not trashed him

And hey if you want to offer me a place to stay for a night or two I'd be more then happy to bring Norm by! I've driven through Texas MANY times, I'd rather not do it all at once!

I will enjoy him to the fullest extent, don't worry

Yeah I noticed that when I got the keys! It's a cool little keychain though, but would be better if it was a German flag haha. You should see my keys now, I think they weigh probably a good pound now! At least I'll know it if it falls out of my pocket!

Don't hang all that weight from your ignition tumbler. They have problems as it is. Extra weight will expedite its demise.

I only have one key and my keyless entry fob. I keep my other keys on a second ring.

Yes that would be awesome, please do! Thank you!!!

And okay, I'll remove some of my keys. Norm's will stay separate from my "everyday" keys, like they came. I'll get a picture of my keys later, there are a LOT of them (not really a pound, but it sure is massive)!

In total I have: 2 keys for Norm, 1 key for my 190E, mail key, condo key, FOB, original keychain from my 190 when it was new, a small lanyard thing, USB drive, and like 8 keyrings to hold it all together.

Yeah I need to downsize!

Oh and new sig until I can find a "nicer" background!

What's on the key ring now is probably Ok. The flag can't weigh more than one key.

Actually that little flag WILL have more meaning when you get home from your journey. It'll mean alot to know that you have seen, (and driven through), almost all the country that flag represents!

Also let us know the dates in Valencia and we'll set up a GTG,

I know the Parts Guy at Valencia MB and he said he'd help anyway he could for a GTG at, or to start from, there.

I see a great SO CAL GTG coming. NOR CAL guy and gals invited too. Let's give Colin a great welcome and sendoff.

IWROCK,
I just had to laugh at your statement about being young......from an old Geeser's point of view it's just too funny you'd say that....being your advanced age and all...LOL! I do remember being a Young Gun though.

I'm kind of in the middle of Pennsylvania, but Reading isn't too far is you and Chad are going to have a little meet-up. I wouldn't mind seeing the car and the VO kit. I may be able to help you out with a few gallons of VO if my stockpile is still up. Unless you've got more than you can carry, I can help you with that problem too

That isn't a key ring, THIS is a... Oh! Wait that's another movie and another implement.
None of which you have there seem like a lot of weight. Mine is for sure heavier but not by much.
