Hey all,
last night I pulled a 3 point turn while dropping off my boss at her apartment. I hear a click but it didnt sound too much like a pop, I thought little of it, and continued. While turning on to the street I noticed that my steering wheel required more rotations to turn my wheels, than it required before.
this is my 75 300D by the way, when out of the car, in park, I turn the wheel from end to end, and there is not a lapse of movement. To say, the wheels continue turning, there is no "dead space", I have experienced play in other steering wheels, where you can almost knock the wheel from side to side. this doesnt feel to be the case on my wheel. I got it home safe, felt like i was driving a clown car though..
I have recently disconected my power steering pump, and have been driving it manually. My pump was being quite jumpy, even after a flush.
I used the search function and found this page
