Way ahead of you.... Years ago when I repaired the cluster originally! Thanks for the offer though! I'm sure there are many others that need to have it done. It makes a big difference in how the dash looks!

I also tinkered with the bulbs light tubes so I could actually see the gauges at night.

Anyone that has one of these cars should do both IMO.

If you go back to the beginning of this thread this was covered, but not in detail. The little brass gear in my case was the problem originally as it was out of a different car with a different ratio (too many teeth). There is a picture of the "said gear" in post # 8. What "vstech" says in post # 30 is right on IMO...

85SD 240K & stopped counting painted, putting bac together. 84SD 180,000. sold to a neighbor and member here but I forget his handle. The 84 is much improved from when I had it. 85TD beginning to repair to DD status. Lots of stuff to do.
