She offered me $3000 (she's not joining the cheap wagon club! ). I feel like I can get more, but maybe that's wishful thinking. What do you guys think? Murphy is not a perfect wagon, I know but he's pretty awesome!

She'll be back in Houston on Tuesday. We're supposed to talk again then.

OH! I nearly murdered the dude she came with. Before I could stop him, he pulled the breather tube off the air cleaner and held his thumb over it to kill the engine. After this he says "Hey, yeah! The compression is really strong!". I wanted to punch him in the face. I don't know how serious this offense is, but I seem to remember reading that it's just one of those things you really don't want to do. Anyway, I counted to 10 then calmly noted that it's not nice to mistreat other people's things.

Anyway, fair deal? Or should I hold out? I think that $3,000 is more then a fair price for a car in that condition. I would take her up on that offer. (If it was my father he would have offered you $2,000 )

$3k probably isn't a steal, but I bet you could get a few hundred more from looking at the pics. I dunno I paid $3k for mine during the height of the biodiesel craze a few years ago and it didn't look as good as yours does.

Why, how would it hurt your engine?

I found selling my truck recently, that there are more vehicles for sale than there are buyers, if you have somebody with cash, and the price is close, don't loose your buyer over a few hundred bucks, or pride.

Hm. Maybe it wouldn't hurt the engine? I don't know. I seem to remember reading it here in the forum that killing the engine in this manner is a big no-no.

I think the market on these is just past it's prime. Oddly enough, I bought this car during the biodiesel craze and got a pretty good deal. Granted it needed a good bit of work though.

I originally listed it at $4200 and had no one even come look at it. Now down at $3600, I've had ONE serious offer for $3000. I kind of don't want to flea-bay it, but I dunno.

I have to sell it for financial reasons. Hence the urge to hold out for more cash.

PS: The car is beautiful, but did I've noticed that cars tend to look better in photos than in person. Weird phenom.

I don't know if you really can expect more or not. In the current economy perhaps not and she does have cash! But I second the above question. WHY are you selling that car?
