I also, before going to bed, when checking and locking up the house will open the door to the garage and briefly flip the light on and take a "good night" look - it's especially good just after she's been washed...the shine from the chrome grill is comforting...

Now that I think about this, and read the above --- It's kind of sad what our life becomes after a certain age............OK - I need a tall vodka tonic!!
When I retire for the night and have just parked my car (or the 190E) I bid them both "good night you two" or something

Ahh...confessions of a Benzaholic!

I agree, and the lines are just as beautiful in petrol coupe form...

Not too much... just every time I park and walk away from it... and every time I am walking up to get into it.

Like Tyler said, (the coupe) had me at HELLO-O

Funny thing is, the sedans never have (and still don't) have quite that same effect on me.

Before I got my coupe I never even consciously made note of a W123 - and I have to have seen them before. But then I had never seen a coupe until I started shopping for one either. I still haven't seen another diesel one on the road yet, and have only seen 3 gasser W123 coupes in the last year and a half.

Dunno exactly what it is about them, but the proportions just seem so right...

Do that all the time. People at work sometimes make fun of me. But they don't own a diesel mercedes.

Thank God- it is not just me, apparently!!! I had never thought I'd be that taken by an old car that's costing me money like all the time and makes me forget other project so I can "improve on things".....
Because it is such a looker I managed to stay away from some serious debt involved in buying a newer one....

Coming or going, mine or my daughter's, that 123 profile makes me smile. Just can't stop looking at it.

That "overlook" shot sums it up..... It does not get any better than that.

Except the one cruising down the highway!

I'm torn.....

Your car has made it into my desktop line up

I am guilty of this too. I always looks back at my car when I walk back.

Before when I had my honda. I hated driving. Now I offer every chance I get

i love looking at Brigitta after i park her.

but i hate myself right now because shes so dirty.

Friedrich still has beautiful lines even after some body damage. i think it gives the car a unique personality. Louisa is still in perfect shape and that wagon just captures me

theres something about Kurt and the entire w126 longbody that just screams look at me.

i need to take pictures of my cars. except Kurt and Friedrich don't run :-(

I was in Krakow, Poland a couple of months ago for a holiday. After a 'few' beers out I was walking back to my hostel and spotted one of the many W124 200D taxis sat outside someones house. In my drunken stupor, I walked over and kissed the chrome grill on the front, only to realise there was a taxi driver sat inside staring at me. I like to think there was a bit of mutual appreciation going on there.
