I take it you don't drive through Medina, Bellevue, or Kirkland?
My car is driving around Kirkland almost every day, and there are two more Silver blue 4dr's in Kirkland alone. My friends is all over the place especially Bellevue and Medina. He has a 1984 300CD Silver blue metallic with Euros and a euro plate on the front that says "Bio Benz", it has 75K.

I grew up in Bellevue and Hunts Point. It was the MB capitol of the NW. Lots of diesels, and a surprising number of SLs.

The cheap skates in Medina, Hunts point, etc. (The Balkans) keep them forever, as well.

It's too bad that shot overlooking the San Gabriel mountains is a bit blurry. There were lots of strong winds that day, camera was shaky. That's why I use the image in my signature instead.

Yarrow Point and Clyde Hill count as Balkans too. If I were to go back I'd probably choose to live in Kirkland. Or a Mountaintop airy in So. Bellevue. I love the view from there. The Balkans have gotten too snooty for me.

In the 80s it was rare to pull up to a signal or 5 way stop or something, without seeing at least one other 5 cylinder Diesel Mercedes somewhere.

Admiring glances over your shoulder isn't weird, it just mean you're a car nut. Oh wait, nut might be synonymous with weird.

You're right, I don't make it to the east side much these days, but I think you must've misunderstood me. I do see a few sedans around. What I have NOT seen on the road yet is another diesel coupe.

I always give it look back check. It is a black on black 560 SEL. If the suspension is perfect it has a slight rake. Classic lines. Old or new, Mercedes has a "presence".

Always, I'll look out the kitchen window at it sitting in the drive way. Looks best at dusk.

I can't wait to get out of the car and look at it, and I'm finding excuses to go somewhere just to drive it. But I need to do something about these painted wheels

O My is that Krylon, or Plasti Dip? I think painted hubbies, and old bbs meshies are your best choices!
