I REALLY REALLY want a 300SDL

I have a limited budget and I want near perfection. Know that this car will have a home with one of the most detail oriented and proactive MB enthusiasts on the planet ... me.

Since this is my dream and my wife is on board, I'm just throwing this out there in the hopes that the right deal will come along and fulfill my wishes.

This makes me drool. If I get one of these I plan to travel the US and visit every forum member I know.

err?

Good luck finding one though! There are plenty good ones out there for decent prices. I'm plenty sure THE car will be on your driveway in short order.

I know, I know ... my first line was kind of a joke. I just don't want to get a car that will require another 9 months of restoration like the first MB I bought.

I know due to my budget I can't have perfection, but it will eventually be there after I have it for a while.

Oh yeah. I wonder why he's so unhappy with it? I'll have to have a chat with Joe.

Really? It's got that cool velour interior. Paint isn't a major issue to me, I'm a body guy. I admit I'm getting tired of being a rust crusader though.

i doubt chad wants to buy my 300SDL.. the previous owner still has yet to send me my damn sound encapsulation panels and its pissing me off.

I bought the damn SDL on impulse.. bad idea. I could have bought something newer and or better for a little more and I regret buying the thing.

Hey Chad.

It's been almost 8 months since I stopped driving Coda. And I've been making remarks to my wife that if she doesn't want to be a big 300SDL on a driving vacation, then maybe I ought to sell it and get something just for me. So, Coda, after I've put her back together "may" go on the market. I had planned on repainting her, but if you want to paint her.....I'll be happy to reduce the price. In the Fall and early winter months, my schedule changes....The time is right to put the new radiator in Coda.

Of course, the wife then asked me why I needed a Mercedes. And I quickly told her so I could be a member of this forum and attend the GTG. She agreed. So, IF Coda does go on the market.....the next question would be.....what car would become my "club car"?

Coda will have:
Euro headlights with or without wiper blades.
Uncracked dash.
Perfect interior --- sun visors with intact doors, no tears or worn spots on seats.
Silver exterior.
Black leather interior.
Cold AC
New Radiator
Becker radio with code.
Upgraded brake lights.
Upgraded radiator fan.
O-rings just replaced on fuel delivery valves
New motor mounts.
Newish motor shocks
New transmission cooler lines
New glow plugs.
New serpentine belt.
Intact sound encapulation panels (both).
Newish hood pad, but it doesn't fit correctly.
New transmission filter --- if I don't get around to the flush.
Lots of service records.
Comes with the first mileage award.
And I'll even include a grill badge from a "certain forum".

I know, but it sounds like the SDL wont be around much longer.

I like to buy older not newer, LOL.
