startron question?

i read the threads about using startron to get rid of buildup in the tank. so i went to the local boat shop and bought some. except i didn't think to make sure it was for diesel engines (he does mostly high performance and local lake boats). it is for gas engines. can i still use it or does it definitely need to be specific for diesels?

thanks.

I saw Startron for gas engines in the sporting goods dept at WalMart. I wondered the same thing. I guess we could go to the Startron web site and compare the MSDS sheets.

For whatever it's worth, the MSDS's look pretty much the same.

Both 95% naptha and 0.5% proprietary organic compounds.

I wonder if the actual difference might be just the sulpher labeling for diesel.

I've been using Startron DIESEL additive for years...Go back to boatshop and exchange gasadditive for diesel type...Alot easier than changing your D for and E.

When you get the right type figured out I suggest you then read directions on back of bottle.... YOU only need add 1-2 ounces per tankful....
