sell your kid or something. $2500 is way too cheap for the 87TD. seller must not know what he is sitting on. easily worth double.

WOW, thanks Bob!
I'm getting it tomorrow. a deal went through on an HVAC bid, so I gots the money now!
I'll post pics and the list of repairs when I pick it up tomorrow.
ok, so the issue is this will be MB # 13 for me... in my yard... anybody wanna claim/buy any of my drivers/parts cars?
I have a customer that is trading me a complete pristine SD with a freshly rebuilt transmission for my 4 speed gearbox with various sundries, so it'll be 14 in a few days... but it'll be sold to my account/buddy same day, so back to 13... I'm hauling the rust bucket 240 to the junk yard shortly *(perfect palomino interior in the 78.... anybody want it?) I pulled the front fenders, and bumpers, and calipers and wheels, and floormats, and crossmember and I think I will pull the cam towers and cam and try to put it on my 5speed 84 euro but I'm not holding my breath that it will work...
is 12 too many Benz's in the yard?

is yours the fine pattern or the wide pattern palomino?
oh, it don't matter if your old is rotted.
it's the old style seats if that matters. VERY good condition though.
how close to me are you? you won't even need wrenches to get the seats out. just pull them off the floor. total rust bucket. but the seats are just amazing condition. mine are the swoopy headrests, not the flat topped ones.
also the door panels are the manual crank ones, so if you have power windows they might not work, but the doors are in fine shape, so you could convert over to manual windows if you want!

A dozen or so Benzs isnt too many as long as your yard is big enough !!!

who wants pics!
I confirmed a deal with the owner today, and will be signing the title and picking up the car tomorrow afternoon!
this is SUCH a sweet ride!
she had an issue with sunroof dripping, so she glued the sunroof shut
and after 5K on the oil, the oil light comes on, so, I'm gonna check the blowby, and the alda, and see if the cat is possibly clogged. (oops, I might have misplaced it while it was being inspected...) that egr seems to need a test bypass...

The oil light, is low oil, sounds like the sender is failing (in the oil sump), it happens. Oil pressure is a gauge only. Don't tell the seller, ...

drove it around today.
she was a smoker... buts in the tray, and odor in the car...
car has the classic plugged alda line issues., it's just a tad pokey off the line.
the kick down switch appears not to function and it runs too hot with the 134 a/c going... I'll have to drain, purge, and convert it back to 12.
aside from that, the sunroof, tilts, but does not open... I haven't gotten all the silicone off yet, but I'm pretty sure the sunroof is not going to open...
opinions? assistance?

Bring it up we'll have a TD day. BTW, it doesn't exist if we don't see PICTURES!!

Mine smelled like an old tent inside, the interior is spread around the garage, getting the carpets cleaned, floor under the carpets cleaned, seats thoroughly cleaned (looking for a late T124 leather interior to upgrade the seats and door cards), ... new dash and insulation, smells get into everything pourous. You could start with an ozone machine to get the smoke smell out, but think of it as airborn bleach, ... it will eventually degrade organics like seat foam, don't leave it in there for a week! Works well for smells though, I used to put mine in every used motorcoach I bought to clear out old smells after cleaning.

Sounds perfect.

Be sure that you clean first, as well as possible. The smoke leaves behind a residue, oily/tar-like, which will clean pretty well from the headliner and other surfaces and that gives the ozone an easier job oxidizing what's left.
