300SDL Suspension Work
Well after doing a lot of work previous to now I have decided to keep the beast(unless some one decides to take it off my hands)and fix all the other things that I have putting off.
After a Sunday cruise over to see chad and "coda" It was a fairly easy decision. So I went through the car with chad and came up with a bunch of pieces that were close to being bad or bad. Well the boxes have started to arrive at the house. I will be sure to take plenty of pics as Chad and myself get to working on this car. Tentative start date is 13 Nov.. Wish me luck!

Well with you being in FL I doubt you will have the possible joy of doing some of this stuff in the SNOW. I hope to have it all knocked out before the snow flies the first time

Guide rods and mounts
One tie rod assembly Bearing support bushings sway bar bushings flex discs All mounts for rear end(diff). Only one is apparently bad but if I am taking time to drop it I want to do them all. Sway bar links-rear. I am probably missing a few pieces. Then follow that up with an alignment. Next spring come the interior. My daughter (13) has claimed this car when she turns 16. ME THINKS NOT!!!

There are three places where the rear subframe is attached to the chassis- the mount behind the diff, and one giant bushing in front of each rear wheel. Are you doing all three of these? If you're doing these, it's almost certainly worth your time to do the 4 trailing arm bushings (2 per side) as well. I did all of these last weekend, and it made a huge difference in my ride quality, all of them were shot, *especially* the trailing arm bushings next to the wheels. I took pictures, I'll put them up soon.

Brianliar thanks for the tip will take a look when I get to it. I think the plan is to do the front one day then in a couple of weeks do the rear.

Now that the snow has all melted it is time to get the front end done. As a way to gain insight anyone that has down these repairs please chime in.
I will have back end on jack stands and the front on wheel ramps. In order, this is how I am planning to do the repairs. Lowest hanging fruit first. 1.The tie rod end is a pop old one out and then the new one in. 2. I have never done flex discs so that is going to be next. By the looks off , You mark the shaft first, then remove the screws pop old one off and new one on?
