Bendix Caliper Piston overhaul. Question..

Decided to make a new thread regarding tis specific problem/question I have since dismantling the caliper on my 85 300TD w123.

As seen in the attached image, I have a repair kit that was purchsed for this particular caliper and year, I have what looks like people have described as a Heat Sheild amongst the seal and dust boot, However I dont see how this is supposed to fit onto the piston. It looks similar but different from what is attached to the piston. There is no way the new sheild will fit snugly on any part of the pistons "sheild". Is it supposed to be separated and loose from the piston? Or is this simply the wrong part.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
