I was asking Jon. I'm pretty sure this is the car that all the experimenting went on with the a/c.

Of course you guys are missing the obvious answer. Where do we allow animals to run free? It's simply another engineering feature to remind the driver about hazards to be aware of.

Now, if I can just get the "watch out for stupid drivers'" to go out on my car...

The AC is great! I'm just using it in the bi-level for defrost for now but it does an excellent job clearing the windshield!

The entire ACC system is working well for now. I had just checked the charge and replaced the servo AGAIN before this happened

Thankfully, no sheet metal or radiator/ condenser damage

That's one reason I'm considering a push bumper.

We have small ones here. I suppose a huge one would be 150 lbs Any hunters?

We do have to deal with armidillos here which can top 400 lbs...

Unh hunh, sure you do.

Shucks, a 400 lb. 'dillo ain't nuffin! We got Jackalopes out here which'n are carnivorous. Why just last week they knocked over a tour bus and ate all the passengers! They left the driver but told him to bring back some more tourists or else!

I shot a 200 pound 10 point buck last winter here in south texas. Ive also seen much bigger ones. The average size deer is not 40-50 pounds in Texas.

LOL, OK... so you are in the fertile valley and shot a 200 lb buck....

they may not be 40-60 here in the famous Hill Country but they are a long way from 200 lbs.... dry scrub, no rain, OVER population.... causes the deer to be less than spectacular...

AND I said 40-80.. I bet the Parks and Wildlife people have some figures on this stuff...

It's about as dry here as it has been there. My parents have a house in briarcliff that we visit frequently. The deer that roam around up there aren't too small. They are big enough to do more damage to a car than the was done to the OP.

I am sure that is true... the damage really looks more like something a hawk would do....he was very lucky...

Here are the averages from YOUR AREA.... You shot a big buck.....

South Texas Deer Harvest Data

From THIS pdf ....
White tailed Deer ....... Texas Hill country pdf
TPWD: White-tailed Deer Research and Management
Page 21-22

Buck Weights:
Body weights of deer are a p;roduct of both nutrition and genetics. To reach a deer's genetic potential it is necessary to ensure adequate nutrition.
The average field dressed weight of a MATURE MALE DEER (4 plus year old deer ) on poor range in the Hill Country is around 80 lbs.
The average weight of mature deer on a HEALTHY range should be in excess of 105 pounds.... Bucks on good range should average close to the weights in the sidebar.

That box had this list ( page 21 of the reference above )

Fawns 35 pounds
1.5 years 60 pounds
2.5 years 75 pounds
3.5 years 85 pounds
4.5plus years 105 pounds...
