Door trim, hood badges (MB and Studebaker) Wheels, throttle linkage, and steering issues...also possibly remove a leaf or two from the rear springs.
So can you now dance the Cha-Cha? What I'm really saying is that I hope all the new pieces are working up to expectations.

Rock On!

The throttle linkage and steering prevent it from being satisfying to drive....hopefully solvable without too much grief!

Today I removed the steering wheel (Nardi) and polished it, then reinstalled; drilled holes and installed the inside rear view mirror and added some power steering fluid. So the steering seems all good now.

Tomorrow I'll reinstall the newly chromed front bumper and reinstall the painted bumper on the rear and hopefully install the new outside mirrors on the doors.

After sitting a few months in the basement garage today I glowed it for about ten or fifteen seconds and it fired up on the first crank. It really sounds quiet but a bit butch with no muff.

I got the outside rear view mirrors on. They work very nicely. As I pulled out my driveway I heard a ping. Then when I shifted into second I got a wooop wooooping type vibration. I'm wondering if its that 30 year old mb u joint giving up with the new angle to the ford rear end.

Drat!

The MB U-joint is kind of unique in that it is a single unit. A "normal" driveshaft has one at each end that work in concert to minimize stress on the joint due to shaft angle.

I'd suggest considering redoing your driveshaft to put a U-joint on either end. My friend Druk had this issue on his 606->107 swap. Here's a post detailing his solution - http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/3279492-post74.html

Or alternately incorporate CV joints which would make for a smoother transmission of torque.

Just a thought....

Yeah, I have been thinking maybe it should be a one piece driveshaft. I'll post some pics for sure when I get the new wheels on it.

I dropped off the door trim at the polishing shop today.

I also looked at the throttle pedal with my Indie and we're gonna try modifying the linkage a bit. It looks hopeful.

Tom - On the driveshaft you may find my build thread to be useful - that's exactly what I did with Mutt. The trans flange to U-joint adaptor was from Jags That Run and (at least for me) was way cheaper than having one machined which is what I thought I'd have to do. Once I had a connection to standard US-style U-joint my local guy whipped the shaft up in no time. IIRC, he provided the Dana connector to the JTR flange and the whole deal was about $300, so not too bad (I was expecting $1K or so). It runs absolutely smoothly even at 130ish MPH. So this operation was a success.

Sounds good. I went by a little bit ago and they found bent guibo bolts....thinking maybe they forgot to tighten them when they put in the 38# flywheel. They got the two leafs out of each back spring too and perhaps other stuff as well. Dang that truck looks good underneath!

I picked up the wheels and tires and will get the torque thrust wheels installed tomorrow.

Today they got the torque-thrusts on and it looks grand with the back end down lower now.

Homer, my machinist told me today a fellow came in who is building a 49 (I think) ford f 100 or 150 with a phantom extended cab. Get this.....he's putting a Mercedes diesel in it!

Now, what kind of a fool would do something as silly as that?
