Horns died again
looks like my 300D is ready for another horn replacement. I was all ready to buy new horns this time, but then I remembered something I have had stashed for close to ten years, so I dug around for a while and found my Hadley air horn setup.
Overkill? Maybe. I have the storage tank and compressor to go with the horns, and would only need a 12V solenoid to tie the system in to the original horn switch in the car. I think I could find the room to mount everything. ![]() Should I do it, or is this just too ridiculous? Obviously I wouldn't be mounting the horns where they are visible.

Ha. Sounds like my friend the other night. I tossed 90 PSI at it from the shop air line while he plugged both ears with his fingers. After the test fire he responded only with "Do it!"

Kind of wondering, where would you fit them? I recently installed a couple of horns that I got from a 2004 Range Rover, nothing too big, and I had a fine time having them fit... It's a really tight fit now and I can barely close my hood with like 1/4 inch clearance... How do you plan on gettiing those in?

I have no idea, yet. That said, there seems to be ample room to hang the horns up and behind the front bumper on a W123 with Federal jumbo bumpers. The compressor and tank are both fairly small, and if need be I could always hang them in the trunk.

Tank in the trunk, put in a big one so you can run an impact for maintenance

KAdams4458,
Too bad that your car is not a TD, as it would be fairly easy to mount the horns up on the roof rack. And Sooo appropriate. Oh well, under the hood or the bumper should work out ok.
