oil question

Hi all. Jim Freeh whom I bought my 95 e300D said he has been using 0w40 mobil one in it. Where can I buy such an oil diesel rated. Maybe he said 5w40...?

Mobil 1 0w40 is available at AutoZone, Advance Auto, and Wall Mart to name a few.

It is a diesel rated oil and carries OEM approvals from VW and Mercedes.

I tried Mobil-1 0W40 in the 1996 E300D (same engine as the 1995 E300D) but thought it a bit too thin, returned to 5W40. Have also stopped using Mobil-1 since it is now only a group III synthetic and there are lots of those for ~2/3 the price.

I'd have no issue running 0w 40 in a full synthetic.
