I ran my OM602 NA with the exhaust cut from the front silencer back for a few days (long story). Besides the drone being almost deafening, it sounded really good. The car sounded like it was much faster than it was. It actually made the car much slower because I didn't want to be revving it out, especially in residential areas. I did purposely scare some people with the noise and the smoke as this was before I sorted out the fuel system.

Yep, Ole Kenny. A fan of Mercedes diesels for sure but not a mechanic. I didn't get the vibe that he did much work on his own cars but instead took them all to Star Motor Service in Charleston who i guess has a pretty good reputation and where he had bought this car from a few years ago.

Like i said, She's not perfect but the goods far out weigh the bads on this one. I feel like i got a good one for a good price.

Star Motors is top notch, I love to go by and see the nice cars, the owner Axle is a big fan of the diesels. He's also got a nice 124 E500 that makes me drool.

Can your new friend come and play at my house for a while? (let's say a year or more!)

The turbos are MUCH quieter with the cut out open. And the turbo spools nearly instantly...

That makes me feel good that you also confirm what I've heard about SMW since it was last sold by them. No records came with the car but I can tell that it's got a new alternator, engine mounts, and new style vacuum pump.

Two weeks on the road and everything is still cool. A couple of small issues that need to be addressed but no major regrets.

Yeah. I didn't notice that until a couple days later. I guess that white is sposed to match the grey of the rest of the body cladding... or is it wrong all together?

Should color match, but it does have the chrome strips on top so its the correct facelift. I wouldn't even waste the time to swap it out if I even had the right bumper sitting around.
