722.6 transmission connector

Hey guys!!!

I am replacing the leaking infamous transmission connector and having difficulty seating it far enough to start the 7mm mounting screw.

I'm doing this on jack stands so there is a limited amount of room, I know that the connector is in correctly and all of the pins are straight and in the proper location coming through the connector. I have even put silicone on it to minimize the resistance.

I just need to get the O-rings to seat so it only has to go in about another 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch. Unfortunately, flat backing it it seems that I can not get in a good enough position to give it that hard last push to fully seat it.

Has anyone else experienced this and are there any solutions? I didn't know if it was ok to get a piece of wood and maybe tap it in the rest of the way with my hammer.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you all!!!
