w123 door card snaps/clips

Anyone know the part number for these? Edit: A0039884178

Or better yet, how to repair/replace them? <---- primary question.

I'm referring to the white plastic posts that secure the door cards to the door frame.

Was fixing a window actuator and broke one on the rear corner of the passenger door. Super annoying.

Those seem to break a lot. I found some generic clips on eBay that fit really well. When I get home I’ll find the bag and get a part number for you.

Oh, and, just break the old ones out and then the new ones twist in. Very easy

Amazing, thank you.

I’m relieved they screw in and out.
I’d read of people using epoxy, screws, giving up, etc.

X2 on eBay. Once you have the Mercedes part number you can get the correct generic made ones.
Usually if you delete the A and just use the number you come up with more products.

The holes in which the clips twist into can become damaged/enlarged or broken. I believe that's where people using epoxy comes into play. But yes they are quite easy to replace, and I've worked on a few newer cars that when the clips break its game over and no way to fix. Good old W123 engineering

Thanks gang.

Post Door Card Clips

There's a simple & cheap tool for taking the door cards off ~ it looks like a flat screwdriver but the end is forked .

you can also use those Nylon trim tools, these prevent the cardboard door card from tering .

The factory clips are the best but the aftermarket ones work fine too .

Be sure to add the gone missing plastic sheet vapor barrier whilst the door card is off .

The M-B Classic Center sells the proper pre cut vapor barriers for the W123 but it's a simple thing to use any thin sheet plastic like bags....

That’s actually what happened.
I’ve had these door cards off a hundred times and replaced the vapor barriers with plastic sheeting a few years ago.
I didn’t properly align the vapor barrier with the clip holes and the brittle old pin collided and snapped.

Nbd now... the generic are identical to what was on there and went right in.
Having spares is great as I expect this to happen again in the future.
