Sounds like you may have installed the pump a tooth or two off.
If so, your timing may be so advanced or retarded that the available range of adjustment won’t make a difference.

I put the delivery valve and spring back in and it doesn't drip our pour. Spun the engine over by hand 2 rotations and lined it back up at 24 degrees. Pulled the spring and delivery valve again and installed the drip tube. Same problem.
It doesn't matter which direction I rotate the pump, it still just pours fuel. Now after the initial pouring of fuel subsides, it drips constantly with no pressure from the primer pump. Push the primer once and it sprays fuel.
What am I doing wrong??
