Blue California License Plates???
Sorry, not diesel related but...
Has anyone bought vintage blue California license plates for their W123 (or any other car) and registered them through the Year Of Manufacture (YOM) program? Only cars from 1980 or earlier are eligible and obviously the license plate number needs to be cleared through the DMV. I was wondering if anyone on here has gone through the process. It seems pretty straight forward but I have a question. I've read that they send you a little metal bracket to put on the top right corner of the license plate to display the current sticker since both, the original sticker and the current sticker need to be displayed. I think that right corner bracket thingy looks terrible. I've read somewhere that you could get around this by putting the plate with the original sticker (1979 in my case) on the front of your car and put the other plate with the current year and month sticker on the back therefore not having to use that stupid right corner bracket. Does anyone know if this is legal? I would love to get around using that bracket if possible.
