Replace heatshields or washers when cleaning injectors ?

I want to clean the the injectors on my 83 240d , this will be the first time doing this for me I want to know what to buy for this job , washers, hoses etc ? The car is smoking alot more and pickup speed has slowed down to a 3 legged turtle. Most every other normal thing I have replaced , I see that the basic price of cleaning and having injectors rebuilt cost more than buying new ones if you shop around , but first I would like to try and clean them. I know the auto trans is slow to begin with I have got to do better than 28 seconds from 0 to 60 mph . If I cant get this 240 to run just a wee bit faster just might have to let it go, hate to do it but lately it cant get out of its own way. Its at the point of dangerous pulling out in traffic. Thanks
