Hello everyone.
I finally receivd the parcel from Quick chip today. My experience with them is not very good. First, they didn't gave me the instruction to install. The instruction they gave me was for V8 and V12 models, and the instruction doesn't provide much clear illustrations.
It is my first time touching a car's computer and I don't really want to take any chances. I have to call them long distance to find out the instructions, but is okay.
I finally got the chip installed, but I didn't get in to work until the second time. I have to re-installed it because I place the chip in to the slot in the opposite way. I think it is understand able right ? They didn't tell me which side the chip was suppose to be facing.
I got it to work, but the idle is bad. Everytime the car is at a full stop position the RPM will drops down to about 500 and it will start to raddle, and the car will acclerate itself ( actually moving if I have it on D) until the RMP it reaches about 1000. This raddle cycle would not stop until the car is actually moving.
I don't know why, maybe the computer needs a couple of days to reconize the new chip ?
Another thing is that the air coming out from the exhaust stinks.
I mean before the exhaust was pretty clear. but now it smells funny.
I don't know, Scott promises that there will be no side effects, but.. I really don't know until I get a hold of him.
I wasn't able to feel much differents ( 20 extra torque and 20 extra Hp ), the car is running a bit smoother, and responded quicker then before, but I can't feel 249 torque at 4500 ? If there is that much of a torque increase, I should able to feel something right ?
I was planning on getting a dyno test, but I have to take care the idle problem first.
Any one had input in this.
