280sl euro shop manual advise/help

I'm in the US, purchased a 1981 280sl w/twin cam. I'm looking for where I might find a service manual in english, not German. I've been advised by friends to contact Mercedes in Germany. Does anyone have any helpful tips. I know my car is considered grey market here, so the cd rom versions are only US models available. I also wanted to get a build sheet on my car, so I need to contact Mercedes ? This is my first Mercedes, so I'm not familiar with this car yet. So far, this car is a pleasure to drive, and a lot of fun.
Thanks in advance for any help !

Someone advised me to get a 280E, or 280ce manual and that it might cover my twin cam 6 ?
