how much rooms in the back of the ML430 ? - PeachParts Mercedes-Benz Forum

Hello, can someone who owns an ML430 tell me how much spaces in the back of the truck? Can you remove the back seat and put a mattress on the floor for those car camping trip? I know with the minivans you can easily do it. Thanks

Had a 99 ML320 not too long ago...cargo room is the same for both.

You have 44" from fender to fender on those models (W163). I don't know about depth since I haven't measured with the seats down.

If you look at the newer (W164) ML models, the cargo width is a bit narrower...I found this out when I traded up and started moving gear from the older ML to the newer one...

The seats fold down, as I reall from my 98 there is still not that much room. What are you going to do with all your camping stuff, there is more room in the wagons

I went camping last autumn. It was too cold to sleep outside in the tent. I folded seats down, moved front seats all the way forward, and inflated full size mattress in the back. It fitted snug but it fitted

There is no room left anywhere but some at front seats. I'm 5'9" 155lbs and my girlfriend is 5'5" and 120lbs and we slept OK in there. There is lots of space in the back of ML. I do some electrical work for living and carry all my tools in the back and have sealed 12" subwoofer box behind the seat as well. Everything fits without obstructing rear window. There is more space than newest Lexus RX400h.
