WOW never heard of any of these places before. Ever. Except Fudrukkers, we just got one of those in Janesville, WI, but never been there. We have a Red Robin in Janesville, there is also one up in Madison I was at I think just once, maybe twice.
I like the burgers at a rib joint I think is mainly in the midwest called Famous Daves.
I like the ones I make on the Weber grill better than anything store bought.
As far as store bought/fast food I like getting a burger at Wendys "Daves style" (which they won't know what that means unless it's the store owner or long time employee) but "Daves style" is a double cheeseburger with onions, pickle and mustard only. Mmmm.
There is a "Texas Roadhouse" in Janesville now too, I should go online to see what the menu is like, anyone been to one of those?
I know the thread is getting a bit hijacked, straying from fast food burgers. Better here than a tech thread I guess........

Hehe, "Dirty's"...now those were good burgers. Long ago, TJ (one of the cooks) would stand by the griddle, one ear to what ever sports event could be picked up on the AM radio, making little balls of hamburger meat and tossing them into a stainless steel pot. When an order came in, TJ would pick out however many burger balls he needed for the order, put them on the griddle and smack them each flat with one splat of a big metal spatula. When I was a squeaker, dad always ordered me two 'sissyburgers' (I was afraid to talk to TJ, he was huge and black as night) — cheeseburgers with nothing but meat, cheese and the bun. Gawd, the grease from those burgers made a soup in the bottom of your plate that you sopped up with part of a bun or your french fries.

TJ died in the early 80's and the health department put the kibosh on a pot full of unrefrigerated burger balls over 15 years ago. It's never been the same since.

Costco also sells Ostrich Burgers which are really good also.

I only like buffalo burgers I'm not too fond of the steaks I'm not sure why but I just don't like them. As far as beef goes I'll take a New York Strip over prime rib or tenderloin any day it the one and only thing I like that is cheaper than the other stuff.

My favorite burger of all time was a street vendor in Lafayette LA, I think his name was Papa Q or something like that, I was also fond of Luke's in Houston TX. I frequented both places when I was well past .20 BAL so I'm not too sure if they are as good sober but the hit the spot when I had a good buzz.

One of the biggest, baddest (and best tasting) grease burgers I ever had was at Willy's Weenie Wagon in Brunswick, GA. They had an interesting menu of cheese burgers and hamburgers, all with at least three patties...plus pork chop, steak and meatloaf sammiches. Killer onion rings too. Always a long lunch line there.

Now that's food for thought

This is what I love about this forum, the vast REAL WORLD knowledge of the contributers are far beyond the typical google cut and paster or 60 minutes watcher.

I will say In and Out is the best fastfood hamburger. You can watch them cut the frys right there in the kitchen from whole potatos.

In-N-Out is so busy that it’s not very fast, but I’m always impressed at how friendly and involved the kids working at the one’s I’ve been too are. I’m not sure about right now, but they were owned by a Pasadena family that was really involved with freshness. Still it’s Fatburger for me – Kingburger with cheese and onion rings please – wait “Cupid Dogs” better than Nathan’s with chilly and onions and mustard – and if you go to the one in Van Nuys you’ll likely be served by a porn star – but if you’re up for a little adventure try “King Taco” about 2:00 in the morning or Tico’s or Famous Jim’s #2 – now I’m hungry – just made ham salad.

Fudruckers is fine.......but 5 guys is far and above superiour......

In ambiance Fudruckers you can take a date to......5 guys is a place you would see contructionworkers on lunch break.
