Who here got snowed?

We got a tad over 12" yesterday, the snow wasn't so bad but the drifts were 6' in places. I had to blast my quad down my driveway at about 30 MPH to get through. The snow in the roads was a solid 8" 10" all day.

Back to the quad I went to make sure a little old lady neighbor was OK and while I was talking to her she asked how I got there I said "do you see those handle bars stick out of the snow?"

I just helped my dad dig out the cars. Except my SDL, rwd cars are useless in this kind of snow so it got the nice warm garage. We got at least 12-15 and with these temps it isn't going away for a long time. Temp -5 with windchill, 13 without it.

We had it light in central Ohio, just a few inches. It made things really fun for our Ram 4x4.

We got two straight days here, over a foot. My new barometer told me it was coming with about a 10 hour lead. First couple times my shoulder predicted the weather I took more Motrin thinking it was just pain from physical therapy but after four snows 8-10 hours after the ache starts I'm starting to learn to read the signs. I'm still not supposed to be using the arm yet but I had to dig out the past couple days so I could run into town. The 560 with Blizzaks handles a heavy dump like this with ease...easy on the gas and gentle with the brake. I see the surgeon on Tuesday for my 3 month checkup, I'll tell him I worked the arm, hopefully we won't get too PO'd.

It was kinda neat to see the snow plows out in a 4-truck formation tryig to keep the roads clear last night. Unfortunately they weren't on my side of the road.

We got about 8-10 inches, which really is just another day, but my dad out in Nova Scotia tells me they have had three feet in total this week from two different storms.

Six inches here in the DC area. Just enough to have fun driving around if you know what you're doing.

Lots of people freaked out though.

It seems we had a bit more down here than Ted had up in Madison, I haven't been up to Madison, will be up there tomorrow.
Had to take a poorly plowed county highway to work yesterday. In the morning it wasn't plowed, but "Big Red", my S10 ZR2 did just fine.
Well, it was drifting quite a bit in the afternoon, I was having fun clipping drifts and so forth, passed an older guy in a pickup and kept going. Bit into a little bit more than I could chew on a bigger drift, and spun out, backwards but stayed right on the road, luckily no one was coming towards me. Snow flying everywhere and the drivers window completely plastered. Stopped facing the same way I came from. Drove straight ahead, it was pretty strange feeling. I think that guy on the Rockford Files used to do this on dry pavement! So, drove the way I didn't want to go, looking for a place to turn around and of course here comes the guy I had passed (I had gotten quite a ways ahead of him), looks at me weird of course. It was fun though. I took it a little easier in the place I had spun out.

Paul,

Did you ever get a snow plow attachment and chains for your lawn tractor?

Got over a foot of the white stuff. It's also bitter cold here for the past week. Its dips down to low single digit at night stayed around the mid teens during the day. Had to used the blower twice this weekend. Talked with the snow removal service in my neighborhood, he charges just $35 for my home. I will call him next time for the big job!
