MAC OS9 connecting to Win2K Server Shared Directory help
Any MAC pros on the forum?
I have a client who has a MAC G4 running some version of OS9 and it needs to connect to some shared directories on a Windows 2000 server. I can't figure it out. I enabled the server's Apple Talk capabilties but the MAC can't find it on the network. I checked Macwindows.com and wasn't able to find anything related to my problem as simple as it may seem. Any help would be great! Thanks. |

I recommend the Dave Thursby software for pre OS X operating systems. |

Great! Thanks. I'll give it a try with the Chooser. I figured it would be something relatively easy. We'll see what happens.

Why would anybody with a G4 run OS 9?
Buy a Sedan de Ville and put a 4-banger in it. |

Lol, a G5 running OS 9.x is worse . . . Like running Windows 98 on a Pentium 4 . . . but with less crashes, I guess.

At one time was thinking of re-learning Unix on it but damn, why? OS-X is so smooth. And I don't have to remember all those anti-mnemonic damned codes. I know, with Unix you are God. It's true, I remember having su priveleges. It was cool when I understood it, 20 years ago! Bot |

Botnst, just hang on for a few and see how the Macs from Cupertino perform when the processors from just down the road in Santa Clara find their way "Inside."

Where's Suganami when I need him to 'splain it? I have never seen it explained so clearly and succinctly. I felt like saying, "Yeah man, like he said!" Bot |
