No.

I'm on the wrong side of your state to let that slide

Forsberg is one of the greats though, should be a lot of fun for you guys this year. I'm just happy for the whole NHL that things seem to be looking up league wide with the season right around the corner.

There is a Canadian web site saying they got Burke today...
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/article.jsp?content=20050809_141625_5100
Which is great because he is supposed to be an excellent mentor to younger guys... and none of our younger guys are ready to be a #1

We have to much youth in goal for sure... unproven potential. So he will be a welcome addition.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. When the Flyers come to town there seems to be a little extra excitement in the air.

Sorry boys, we don't put our kids in any hockey camps till 2. They don't make hockey skates small enough. Though we do start them on strengthening exercises once they start to walk.

Seriously though, you PA boys are delusional, it the Habs year this year. In Pitts you'll have to be happy with winning the Sidney sweepstakes and in Philly you're going to find the best forwards you got are Richards and Carter. Richards played his juniour just down the street from me so I've caught a few games, and he really is something special, the total package.

It is going to be a better game this year though, parity will only help the quality of the game every night and give every one a shot at the big prize, and if they're serious about calling the clutch and grab, it should make for a way more exciting game.

Giddy up.....

wow, that sucks. i usually don't become delusional until after the all star break. no all star game this year though so i guess i'm getting a head start.
richards and carter looked pretty good here w/ the phantoms but it's so hard to tell if that will carry over. i think peter forsberg will be the difference if he can avoid missing a lot of games. were the habs able to keep jose theodore?

So are they gonna play twice as hard this year for slacking off all last year or did they get too fat and slow to even make it worth watching?

Peter

i'm thinking the guys who played last year will be at the same level and it will take the guys that were idle last year a month or 6 weeks to really get it together. i would watch hockey before any other sport so i'm feeling good about the season

Naw the habs have to sign a bunch of rfa's but it shouldn't be a big deal at this point. They also have a half dozen good young players ready to move up and play. if the game does get called as they are promising the young legs will be more valuable than the older ones. As for the fat players, the Leafs will bring them into camp and they should be up to speed for easter.

this is probably the first season in many years where I'm really interested in watching, I'm already planning the first trip to montreal to catch a game with my son.

They jumped the gun on reporting that. A few hours later they changed it to Tampa Bay. That is probably why the competiting national sports TV channel in Canada, TSN, did not report this when sportsnet announced it. Anyway, you hockey fans in the state of PA must be excited, to have 2 competiting teams this year. I think Mario and company will bring the team back to the promise land, the playoffs!

As for my Toronto Maple Leafs, they better sign Lindros to have any chance in the East Conf this year against Philly or Ottawa.
