I fired up my new ibook G4 this afternoon and have one thing to say. I'm putting one of those Apple stickers on my windows.

I'm ordering a new desktop this weekend, the simplicity and power of apple spanks every computer I've ever seen. One example is I've been attempting to use my SprintPCS vision for mobile internet via bluetooth. After several 3rd party add-ons for windoze and when it did work it wasn't for long. On the iBook it was a 1 minute set up and whamo bammo I'm up and running.

Hmmm...

I've been thinking of trying the other side, being a switch hitter for a while. Do you know of a year or two old model Apple that might be good enough to get a feel for the difference? A notebook that is. Don't know if I can buy a new apple just now. My Gateway is only a year old but GD the funky glitches.

If you want to run the current OS X decently, then you're probably going to want at least a G4 powered notebook, however it will run on a later model G3 powered unit with enough memory.

Man, I can say that they are easily worth the extra money. Apple has everything thought out right down to the power cord. Apple maybe a bit more expensive but once you add all of the extra software for windows that you must have, I'd say its close to even and thats not taking the apples longer service life into account.

I am having some problems with ActiveX but i hope to get it working this weekend.

Like you, I am blown away by the way Apples work. I just love my iMac G5.

I'm just done with Bill Gates and Windoze.

My friends tease me because I've been recommending the Apple products with a missionary zeal.

I'm asked all the time why I like the Mac and why they are so much better than a pc. I always reply, "because they just work, man, they just work".

BTW I ordered an iMac for the desktop and minimac for the kids, and I better save some money on insurance because I pegged the debit card.;

My kid saved her money and bought an iBook and an iPod. Now she lords it over me, teasing me for the slow-assed machines I keep running. I finally gave my Mac IIsi to Goodwill in 2002 that I bought in 1991. The dang thing was still useful and dependable. I just got sucked into the upgrade vortex. I feel the pull of the darkside whenever she shows me some download that runs jerky on mine but runs like a DVD on hers. MUST RESIST!

My next one will be from eBay, probably next year. I'm thinking I'll pick-up a G5 dual processor when everybody craves the Intel Mac. Isn't that scheduled for next year?

So so I have a buddy with an auction license that knows them well and has his eyes open for me. He said I should be able to pick up a decent one for sub 10k at auction. weeeeee'lllllll seeeeeeeee

I'm at a remote location using my Bluetooth phone and mac for internet, the Palm treo sycs easily with the mac and I'm average 128K, at this rate I can dump my hardwire dsl when evdo comes out this winter.

I am so hooked on this mac its insane, when I die it will be pryed from my cold hands. I am a home PC user and play with several OS's but this brings life to a whole new level, the networking, software and every thing else on the mac goes with so much ease I can compute instead of dealing with the ramifications of tweaking windoze.

to the world of the enlightened. Once you use a mac you will never go back (I am one of those technophobes that have always used Apples). I find it hard to believe that so many people have put up with Gates garbage system for so long.

I've always sort of enjoyed experimenting with stAnge OS's BEOS is really my all time favorite but I'm too busy to trouble shoot.

One thing that I miss a ton is the right click.

Indulge yourself and plug the multi button PC mouse into the Mac, it'll work.
