Thumbs down Jeb the Idiot.

If you've been here or can relate to waiting for gas lines....People have been waiting in gas lines for 6 hrs and up on days 2 through 4 of hurricane Wilma....The stations had plenty of fuel but no power to pump...ANd
No Generators......
Well heard on the news last night that earlier this year Gov. Jeb (Oy!) Bush...vetoed a bill to provide funding or tax incentives in Florida for gas stations to afford to purchase generators in case of Hurricanes....

I wish that was the front page Headlines in the Newspapers and the lead story on ALL the newscasts across the state....What a schmuck!!!! I thought only his little bro was a twit, but it does run in the family...

If gas stations want to pump gas when the power goes out they should pay for their own generators. Everyone else does. You gotta be responsible for your own business. You chose to open a gas station there and you know the risks and rewards.

I hear many many things about Jeb but this is the first time I've heard someone say that he was an idiot when it came to Florida Hurricane disasters.

Like him or not it compared to any other state that has been hit by a Hurricane this year it looks like jeb has things under control.

Yes! I pay at the pump, they can invest in their own means to stay in business. Hospitals and banks have to buy their own generators, don't they? Why would gasoline stores be any different?

I'll trade you a Kathleen Blanco for a Jeb Bush. I'll even throw in a Nagin to sweeten the pot.

If I may briefly state the obvious, Austin's got an agenda.

That he would distort this for some miniscule political advantage ought to taint the veracity or at least the accuracy of everything else he posts relative to politics, in my opinion.

Thankfully, you are clearly immune to the affliction.

No way, I freely admit to my bias which, in my opinion, adds credibility to my position.

Another short sighted approach to the problem.

Just because people can't move their $hitboxes, the government should step in and provide money for generators for a gas station????

What about the food stores? Should the government provide generators sufficiently large enough for all the refrigeration requirements? Now thay you have gas in the $hitbox, the $hitbox will travel for food.

What about the banks? Should the government provide generator for all the banks in the area? You have a fueled $hitbox that can get food from a grocery store with a generator............but no money to buy any of it...........have to have generators for all the banks..........right?

The bottom line is the fact that commercial establishments are responsible for their own well being. If these establishments want to provide goods and services without being dependent on the power company, then they have the capability to do this.

If you were to check around, I'd bet that you would find quite a few establishments, and possibly some gas stations, that do have a generator setup. With the case of a gas station, the size of the generator would not need to be all that great to run the fuel pump.
