Express concern for the themes of violence toward women in his music and get yourself a not-so-pleasant mention on his next album. Whatta guy.

On a lighter note, I find this Eminem "interview" absolutely hilarious:

I don't think present day hiphop culture is basically that much different from what Elvis Presley did in the 50/60s. Like then, the music and lifestyle appeals to young rebellious adolescents that are looking for idols. It's only become more and more extreme over the years. In 10-15 years time, there will other artists that will make the Eminem's of today look silly, although to 40+ folks now, this might appear rude and shocking.
What amazes me in hiphop culture is it's popularty among women aswell given the extreme disrespect and degradation of woman in the 'scene'. Seems like feminism has lost this generation.

You are right... and your last point is dead-on. Nevertheless, I still find it entertaining when I see a white-bread high school kid who was the image of Beaver Cleaver the year before pimping out a Honda, blasting Eminem, and riding around with his seat fully reclined and sneering.

Ever since seeing the "Red Rocks - Under a Blood red sky" video back in '85 I have always wanted to go to a U2 concert. They know how to put on a show and I hear Bono still has it.

My point was that opera at such a concert was unique for them. I have never heard any Judas Priest so I can't compare...I will do so when I have some free time. I am aware that a LOT of singers have much more range than Bono does. He sings with a lot of passion and I think that's what makes the band unique.

Au contraire... I think there is a healthy dose of the spiritual in U2's music. Not always strictly Christian-brand spiritual, but it's there. I hear the same things in Erasure's music. That's my kind of "Christian rock;" I don't care for the blatantly "Christian" stuff much at all.

LOL
"Boy" was my first U2 album too. Highly underrated album. I still play it.

Story teller...no kidding! When they did "Bad" live at Live Aid and Bono went off and turned a 3 minute song into an amazing 8+ minute affair it was just stunning. I don't know how the Edge kept up. Been my favorite song ever since.

U2 rocks, I agree. Always changing and evolving, never in a rut. HTDAAB is the logical culmination of their maturing sound. But my all-time favorite(s) has to be a tie between Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby. Zoo TV was a trip never to be duplicated and its irony took us all by surprise after the "preachy" years...
