I don't think any soldier comes home "psyched" about killing, I don't know a single Somalia or Gulf vet that is happy about about having to kill but 100% of them are happy to be alive; if you are not psyched to kill, especially in the Somalia situation you and your comrades will be dead.

I have a profound respect for life that is why love to see genocidal tyrants die an agonizing death.

It ain't murder if it's a war. In our culture and in most of human history, dealing death in war, if conventions are followed, is not murder. If conventions are not followed and death is inflicted then it maybe murder but not necessarily.

If you say so, it means only that you accept the supposition. Yet the supposition that war isn’t widespread serial murder exists only as a fabrication of convenience. Take a soldier killing another soldier. That’s not murder? Then what is it - spontaneous and mutual self defense or something we tell ourselves is of larger significance?

Take a thug killing another thug. That’s not murder? Only difference between example 1 and 2 is the clothing, and I suppose what one believes is their justification.

How someone can feel good about murder in any event can only be a component of brain chemistry gone terribly wrong.
