If that is numb I will accept that because it's a nice place to be.

Well, if that's your experience, that's your experience. I've just got my own tangential experience and interpretation of war's "collateral damage" to contend with over here on my end. Let's just call it an informed naivete. My opposition to a senseless military conflict isn't quite as knee-jerk and random as some folks may have assumed.

Those who cry themselves to sleep every night can't hear through their own wailing or see through their own teary eyes.

Taking of life it is is the enemy, sentient, viable or whatever, is still the enemy. You are killing someone who is trying to kill you. When you succeed, it is also celebrating being alive. I don't see a problem with it. WWII pilots used to have flags or images of their kills or bomb missions. Hell, I think they were given titles of ace after a certain number of kills and some bonus payoff. I think it should be encouraged.

So have rape and child abuse. Should we similarly revel in those activities, simply because of precedence? Re-read my post. You'll see that my questions are directed at the inherent anti-social nature of taking glee in the destruction of others, not whether these activities aren't sometimes a necessary evil.

Armed conflict = child abuse and rape.
