I'll go along with that and if I were over there, of course I'd want to smoke them rather than the other way around. Doesn't address the question of our "need" to be there.

All sorts of different manifestations of naivete.

Can the incorrect response to "important dangerous things going on around you" lead to greater danger rather than safety?

Hope, Washington. But it wasn't Rambo, it was First Blood - although John J. was there.

I don't think its as much the killing but the competition, and in all competition they are there to win. They don't seem to be as psyched up taking a life as I've seen others psyched up at taking a Super bowl ring.

I have known several people who have probably killed more people than I pass on the freeway everyday and seem just fine.

I'm also wondering what would happen to a mugger who selects a veteran, or in this coed army a rapist who selects a veteran.

I remember a local story about gang bangers who tried to mug an old lady. She just rolled up her sleeve and showed him her tattoo, the tattoo of the number the Nazis gave her, and referenced the worst they could do to the worst she's seen.

Is your position that there are no Iraqis in the U.S. that would cause some terroristic harm on our soil?

My position is simply that you used a Pakistani as an example in your effort to refute cmac's assertion that the Iraqis we're fighting in Iraq were, with very few exceptions, very unlikely to come to the United States to kill us. That there are now (likely) some here, and that they are more willing to come here to kill us than they were, say three years ago, is testament to the folly that is our invasion/occupation of their country.

So far, very few, if any, Iraqis in the US have tried to do us terroristic harm.

Whether or not some do in the future is anyone's guess.

Considering how hostile a lot of American attitudes towards Arabs in general are, imagine how we would respond if an Arab military force were here in the US and did something like Abu Gharib on Americans.

Hard to say how we'd respond to that.

Woot Woot..... I'd see how long an insurgent takes to bleed out when shot in the gonads.

I have no sympathy or empathy for those scum. Most aren't Iraqi and have no interest in Iraq. They only want to cause trouble.

More or less willing than three years ago....your guess is as good any anyone's.

I will tell you again. Iraquis, Pakistanis, Iranians and many, many others are here, right now, on our soil. Yes, they want to kill us and create harm to our country (economic and otherwise).

Easy way to find out. Well, not so easy. But you get the idea.

There was a PBS series back in the 80's narrated by a Canadian whose name escapes me at the moment. It was about war and one episode was entitled, "Any Mother's Son." It did a fair analysis from one guy's perspective. I'll see if I can find any info on it.

I'm sure that's true. I suspect that there are also Americans, Canadians, Mexicans, Cubans, Brits, French, Russians, Chinese, Japanese, Samoans, Ukranians, Nigerians, Australians, and many others who also want to kill us and create harm to our country.
