Well if not the pain I understand the bind. Hope it passes soon. I also agree that there are both good and questionable uroligists.
The good ones like mine are horrifically busy these days. Either the percentage of the older population is now greater or cancer is on the increase. I suspect it is a combination of both. I do not suggest alcholisim but if a few drinks after work ease the current difficulty even a little I think I might consider the relief. Thats if you can even drag yourself into work right now. With the doctors permission of course. If I were a uroligist I would exchange my services for car services with a good mechanic.Even if it were for only a string of oil changes over time. Why not as I probably would have all the money my family will ever need or be able to use already. Something has been lost in the medical equation when doctors operate under a system that is so punative to a person in serious pain. This is not a time or situation to delve into universal medical care either . It has it's flaws as well. I too have experienced pain at levels that dominate everything. Like the time that I was in an explosion. The pain grew exponentially until I stated either you put me under or I will soon become unconciouis from it. I was becoming apprehensive I might not pass out at that point. The mind tends to forget the severity of it over time after it is gone. All I really remember is that it was so bad I could no longer stand it. They did put me under. Understanding extreme ongoing pain is kind of an abstract concept to individuals until you have had it yourself. |

Oh my gosh Roy!
I keep thinking I will see a post indicating a huge sigh of relief. I'm looking forward to such post, but I'm sure that I'm not looking as much forward to it as you are. Hang in there! Larry

Here's hoping for a "passing" before the weekend arrives!
And for that matter, a pain-free rest of the holiday season! Hang in there bro! ![]()

Sorry to hear that, man. I went through that last summer. I hope to avoid any recurrence of it. Good luck. Hope it passes soon.

From your silence today unfortunatly I suspect the issue continues. Hopefully it will be over now sooner than later.
It has to be wearing on you by now. I and the rest of the members can only hope it is over very soon. |

Thanks
Yes it continues.
![]() Passed multiple batches of talc powder size sand + blood today. It was just large enough to coat the stone sieve. It gave me hope until an attack that dropped me on the floor three times in an hour. ![]() . |

Are the stones keeping you awake at this time of night?

When my cousin developed them, he was told it runs in families and was wracking his brain trying to figure out who that was. I answered the question . . . our grandfather. Now there's two in my generation.

I was just thinking. Always dangerous. If a known juice clears them out like lemon juice in Roys case. Would a lighter dose of lemon juice on a daily basis after they pass not keep new ones from forming again?
Apparently for example cranberry juice is good for general bladder health has been known for a long time and I suspect very real.. Especially for people that have cycles of urinary tract infection I understand. Yet in Roys case it contributes to stone buildup apparently. Ineffective for some I could understand but a serious side effect like stone formation is another whole issue. , |

Roy,
I've been out of circulation for a few days. Your posts don't sound as desperate as the were several days ago. Are you feeling better? Have you passed the stone, or are you just getting more accustomed to agony. Hang in there!

Every time this thread rises to the top, I hope that it will be Roy announcing the inevitable passing and subsequent relief thereafter!
It's almost Christmas Eve...let's pray that the "coal" that's in Roy's stocking will go away!

Update
Not gone yet.
The pain is manageable with Bayer® Aspirin or ibuprofen 800, if I stand/sit straight and don't sleep longer than three hours. Anything longer causes serious pain spikes. . |
