Now ask yourself how come the sheriff did not know that Mary Jo was inside the car?
i never heard that one.
and i certainly never said he wasnt drunk. i just said it is not true that he knowingly let her die and had a chance to do anything about it.

I'd bother to point out the inherent anti-social nature of that attitude, but intentionally deafened ears listen little and hear even less. I personally despise Ted and his politics, but I don't wish grave illness or death on him or ANY person for that matter--that's just plain wrong. That goes for mass-murdering butchers like Bush and Cheney, as well.

Actually.... I have never denied being anti-social.

Actually, it IS true. Sorry if the facts are inconvenient.

Sometimes it's just easier to form an opinion rather than deal with those pesky details.

OK, we're going to get nationwide TV to watch a re-enactment of the Chappaquidick scene, done at the same point in the tide cycle, and we'll have MM try to dive down and pull a dummy out of a sunken car.

I like to think I'd have gotten her out, but I hear that tidal estuaries can surprise even a strong swimmer.

The whole episode essentially put Joe Kennedy in his grave. TK is a seriously mixed bag, but it's not like this whole episode didn't occasion a little suffering on him as well as the young lady. Thank god no one else in our great land has ever screwed up and killed someone while driving.

Look, for a lot of reasons, I don't especially like the guy either. But I'm a little burnt out on this crap of trying to hang everyone to the left of Hillary Clinton for the sins of a pampered rich boy. Specially by the same crowd that is in total denial about the peccadillos of their own sacred icons.

So Ted should be killed in a plane crash so more Kennedy grandkids can have a tragedy to tell?

Drawing conclusions about a sure-fire asswipe is one thing and I dislike TK as much or more than anyone here, but I think wishing him and the flight crew dead akin to, well, what he has been accused of doing on the Cape.

Thumbs up

Yup.

I heard a televised interview with him a while back and I was surprised at how sane and sober he came across -- some pretty solid thinking, and I was primed to dislike the guy.

First time I'd heard him hold forth in quite a while, ceptin' for on the Senate floor.

Dude, lighten up. I was only half-serious. I wouldn't want the flight crew to perish... Just Ted.

Yeah, I think it's in pretty bad taste to wish someone dead unless they're along the lines of Hitler, Stalin, etc.

If you're not an atheist you don't need to worry about it anyway, as you would otherwise believe he's got to answer for all of his actions at some point.

You know I have an issue wit your social darwinism thang. I can't lighten up until they pass some progressive laws.....

I am glad you are only half-serious.
