Definitely fight to have it fixed! From the pics, the body seems pristine. You've got updated rims, etc. you obviously look after the car. If the adjuster is fair, he/she will notice this. I don't see them writing it off for this, esp. since the claims are separate.

Good luck!

Hey, I posted an accident thread as well, we can share our misery!

You said the car was in park when hit and then it ROLLED a good 30' after impact!?? Was it still in park after?

That is not good. Could be that the pin that engages in your tranny to keep the car from rolling while in park is broken. COuld be expensive to repair if they have to drop the tranny to get at it.

I noticed the euros - definitely spec those out for replacement and make sure they quote you for them! I'll speak for Ebennz here - specify Hellas or Bosch!

Within the last week someone on this list was griping about AAA Insurance not covering something. Do a search for AAA and gets your guns ready. You may need the info.

Oh damn, another Metallic Beryll W124 got injured.

That is a very unique color. I love that color, and those rims make it look AMAZING! I love how the color is blue at night, and green during the day. Definitely a unique color.

With that said, I was in the same situation, except it happened in the front of the car.

Now for your car. I was in your same boat. I had two adjusters look at the car, and one appraised the damage @ $12,350 with new parts. The second said that it would have cost $4,800 with used parts, and a little less labor. The insurance company said that if we pushed, we could have had her fixed.

My dad ultimately decided that with the amount of frame damage, we would be better off with a different car.

Since the other driver hit you while it was parked, it is totally on her. Assuming she has coverage, I would push to have it fixed, dependant on the amount of frame damage. If there isnt alot, I would certainly try to have it fixed, but if the frame is seriously warped, then I would have to consider the safety the car would offer in the future, as it has been comprimised.

If you want it fixed, tell them to fix it our you will drag them through court for the amount in dispute.

After all was said and done, we got a check for $5000.... My dad was able to meet with the appraiser and get him to give us more, as the car was in almost perfect shape.

Anyways, she had just rolled 200k miles, and ran like the day she was bought. She was in perfect condition, and the only flaw was the front left fender. She was repainted there, and the color wasn't quite matched 100%.

Excellent! Stand your ground! Don't let 'em bully you into something you don't want to do.

Well, she got totalled today.....

We are awaiting a settlement from the insurance company. They estimated the value at about 6 Grand, in the condition she was in. I am still dissappointed that she is a total loss. Thank you all for your support, and letting you know that i will be getting an other E Klasse if i find a nice 124 no rust of course if not the a 210 is on the list 00-02 .

Somebody give my a hug i'm about to cry aaaaaa

Till next time..... . (She will live forever.)

I just bought a 1993 300E a few months ago with 147k on it and in similar condition (looks like anyway) and paid $5800 (probably a little too much) from a local Mercedes shop/ dealer. From what I see it looks like a total loss, but I hope they repair it for you, it's a beautiful car!
