You obviously missed certain parts of the Bible like:

An eye for an eye.

Or the thumping David administered to Goliath.

Or the buttkicking that Samson delivered.

Or the smackdown that Jesus rained upon the money traders.

That is the beauty of the Bible, it contains fodder for just about any kind of argument.

That's the great thing about managing section 8 housing,you deal with human nature at it's most brutal,elemental level.

The Bible,like Nostradamus's predictions have something for every occasion,incest,murder,rape,thef,homosexuality,you name it.

And this Jehova fellow behaves like any badly brought up child,he gets a hissy fit and whole civilisations are wiped out at a single stroke.

Yeah! I have often thought the Bible should be banned from our public libraries. We don't need to have our children corrupted by all that violence, sex, and other despicable trash!

AMEN,{or Women}Brother! Let's start our own church here! Acolytes of the Third Star or something,everybody else seems to do it,and following Hobbes's theorem,the more ridiculous the core beliefs,the holier the faith!

I agree. I sometimes get exasperated over differences of opinion, but I just don't get upset. I used to, but not any more. What changed?

I saw the movie "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back", one of the films in Kevin Smith's continuum. Anyways, J and SB get mightily upset about the many insulting and derrogatory things written about them on the internet. They come into some cash at the end of the movie, and use that money to fly around the country, beating the crap out of the people who wrote the offending posts. All of the posters were 12-14 year old boys.

The moral? First most of the insulting things that someone wrote in the safety/comfort of their home anonymously shouldn't be taken seriously because it doesn't amount to much more than adolescent taunting. Second, to get worked up over said things, to the point of extreme anger or violence, is just as ridiculous.

All that *and* Shannon Elizabeth and Eliza Dushku in leather catsuits.

Yeah, I think you're onto something, Carleton. Since this is a Mercedes forum, we could call it Diamleretics or something like that. We could hook new converts up to our E Class Meter for a reading and charge a lot of money for it. I feel a new career coming on . . .
