Since this is a thread about nothing (there you go softball, Dee8go), I have a confession to make: about five years ago my partnership put a building up for sale. During the course of the sale, through an independant inspector, we found we had substantial damage behind the dry-vit due to leakage around the windows. We took the bldg. off the market and filed a claim, rather than dicker about a replacement allowance with a subsequent purchaser. The windows were custom built at a regional factory and are not nationally sold (and I didn't build the building). We got three quotes for windows, most importantly one from Marvin and one from Pella. We went with Marvin because they were considerably cheaper. In reading all of this Pella crap recently, I seem to recal that Marvin's have at least a reputation for being more expensive. Maybe it was the installation costs, ect....but this was say a $35-60K job and there was almost $10K of swing between Marvin and Pella.

It's like Seinfeld, a show about nothing. No wonder it's so popular. I have no interest in or actual opinion about any of these windows. I do need to buy a new front door before winter, though. Any opinions on those?
