That way you can enjoy listening to the fiddlin' without having to always imagine that Rome is on fire.

For those of you who are bothered by the recent mortgage crisis you might have a look as well. Not so sure that it'll help with Pella windows, but hey, anyone with those is probably pretty happy anyways.

Dude, how do you manage to transmit a smirk at that distance? I'm not selling apocalypse -- I'm getting a whiff of the sort of collapse of societies and empires that has happened many times before on this earth. This time we ought have more of a clue about it than those civilizations of the past.

Isn't that above statement simply contradictory to itself?

Remember, only you can decide you have a problem and you have to hit rock bottom first. We're pulling for you, dude!

The Mayan calendar ends on Dec 21st 2012 - that's when we all die.
Coincidentally, there is supposed to be some sort of celestial alignment, where the earth will find itself between the sun (lotsa gravity) and a black hole (lotsa gravity there too). Some say there will be a polar shift, some think it will rip us in two - either way, there's gonna be a lot of screaming that day.

You would think so, but not.

It's gonna be an interesting day, irregardless of the outcome. Those primitive Indians were pretty intuitive when it came to astronomy and the passage time.

Well, personally I can't decide which will be worse - when the TV broadcasters all go digital and my analog sets don't work anymore, or when that Canary Island volcano blows apart and spawns a massive 90 foot tsunami that wipes out the entire East Coast....!

Happy Motoring, Mark

(And may all your nightmares be pleasent ones!)

I forgot about half of that canary island falling into the ocean. Not sure if I should buy hip-boots or a surf board.

Why don't you look up what percentage of income people keep compared to what they are taxed over the same 60 year period and get back to me -- correlate it to current day.

To say that everything was great for 60 years -- and that means it will be great for another 60 years is foolish, at best. Things were going pretty well for Germany before they lost the war.

Same for the British, Spaniards...

But, hey you can believe what you will... it is still (sort of) a free country.

I'm not your research b!tch.

If you feel strongly that you have a point; look it up at a reputable site with some verifiable statistics, do some research, and present. It would be a vast improvement for you.

I mean, seriously, Howie! You voluntarily back down in front of those to who, most of the time, you regard as only being a bunch of “know-nothings”!?

...Or is this part of the strategy in the book "The Art of War"?

A law unto himself. An apocalypse, correct me if I'm wrong, implies a cataclysm so huge, so great, that it must be divinely effected. An island on which a bunch of rabbits are starving because they've over-bred and exhausted their food supply is not in that category.

Believe it or not, I do consider that constant fretting about disaster can lead to a paralysis of thinking. About as dangerous, IMO, is a pollyanna doffing of rose colored glasses, a pathological inability to consider that one's own behavior could be anything other than exactly what the good lord had in mind from the git-go.

Yay team.
