And everybody thought Clinton was hard on women.

Deer are as dangerous as wiener dogs and pitbulls.

Pennsylvania Woman Gored By Deer

(AP) SHANKSVILLE, Pa. A Ligonier woman is recovering after she was gored by a deer at a Somerset County hunting preserve yesterday.

Thirty-five-year-old Jamie Detweiler was studying wetlands for an engineering firm when the buck charged her at 6 Springs Hunts near Shanksville.

Roger Harmon, who owns the preserve, says it's the first time he's had something like this happen in the five years he's been in business.

Harmon says Detweiler was gored in the leg. She was taken to Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, where officials are not releasing her condition.

But Randy Musser, who owns the firm where Detweiler works, says she will probably be released from the hospital today.

I heard it said someplace that sometimes dogs sometimes take on the characteristics of their owners, usually the worst ones.

On the way back from a trip to San Francisco yesterday I visited some friends that have a pit bull. Every time I go there the dog seems more and more mellow. This time he just laid on the blanket on the floor and paid me little mind, evn though he does not know me.

Sometimes owners get attached to the idea of owning certain breed of dog to the exclusion of other breeds, alfter they had a very good experience owning their first one

The fourth picture from the left, the "Pup Brand" picture, is for the Lemon Association in San Dimas, CA.

I live a few miles from San Dimas, and happen to be heading there right now to meet an old friend for lunch.

Interesting, I was wondering about "Pup Brand". Have fun at lunch and watch out for those evil pits.

We have been having a Pit Bull killing spree, 5 people in three days. One group of dogs escaped from their kennel and killed two people in separate attacks. I have friends with Pits and they are all loving and docile but the trouble starts when they get around other dogs.

FWIW my friend had a pit Chase for 10 years. Calmest, coolest dog I knew. One day out of the blue, it decided to attack her in her sleep, mauled her face and tore her jaw right of her face. $500K later she's back to looking normal again. She is the sweetest person I know. Nobody can explain what happened.

I look at it as 80/20. 80% of the behavior is bread by teaching. 20% is bred by genetics. Some of the most hostile behavior is within that 20% that can trigger a reaction. And if you have a purebreed, you've twisted the genetics even more against your favor.

iirc, the French woman who overdosed and passed out had her face chewed on by a Lab.

If it wasn't for the fact that she had a face xplant, I'd bet her story would have gone untold, unless her dog was a pit. Makes for a sexier story.

Horsepiss. It all depends upon the socialisation.

Along with many retrievers and pointers I've always had "Pits"and the whole damn key is proper early socialisation with other dogs.

I can tell you this though, all the pits I've had would not bite even my little finger,as opposed to my other hunting dogs who enjoyed gently knawing my hands and other parts.......in fact my "staffordshires" were the ones who would instinctively come to my aid when playfully attacked by my larger hunting dogs or when I had an attack of cardiosyncope they would lick my face in an attempt to revive me.

I have absolutely no compunction of letting my 8 year old daughter sleep with one in her bed.

I can truly say they combine high intelligence, loyalty and an intuitive bonding with humans, you introduce a stranger to them all well and good......if someone breaks a window and sticks their hand inside well, they just won't let go as happened once to my late mother, the cops used the finger and blood to trace the hapless break-in artist.

Now back to Josephine Baker singing La Petit Tonkinoise and T-Bone Walker singing Sister lollylou..............
