Another Mopar in my stable.

For those of you that like the old Mopars, and I know there are quite a few Mopar guys here, I've got some updated pics of my 67 barracuda and wanted to show you my recently aquired 71 Dodge dart swinger.
The swinger has a slant/6 and three on the tree manual trans.
I finally have something I can drive while I work on the cuda.

The swinger is a little cream puff and just needs a new clutch whenever I can get around to it.

I decided to sell the swinger to a young 17 y/o friend of the family for what I paid for it, but I'm gonna cruise in it until he can aquire the money.

I just got the bumpers rechromed on the cuda from atlanta "chrome it" in Marietta Ga.

That Swinger is begging for a 340 and a posi diff. Put an unmodified hood and set of radial whitewalls on it as camo and shame more than a few Mustang GT owners at stoplights.

Lucky bastards in the South. (no rust)

I'll have to dig up my pics of my '66 Chrysler Newport. 383, 2bbl. 4 door boat. Radio delete. I bought it in 1990 and it had 16,000 miles. A few scratches here and there but no rust. It sat in a garage for soo long, I replaced the brakes and wheel cylinders, rebuilt the carb, new fuel pump and reconditioned the gas tank. Did you ever do 130 mph in a 4,000lbs + car and touch the brakes? (drum all the way around)

There are no brakes at that speed. I drove it through high school and sold it in 2000 with 23,000 miles.

Nice cars man! I like the white with the raised white letter tires.

Oh yeah, that swinger could be deadly with a killer small block and a sure grip rear, but it really runs like a champ as it is.

It is a blast to drive with that three on the tree as you don't see too many people shifting those any more.

The swinger has been a real head turner and brings lotsa smiles, and I can only imagine how sick the cuda will be on the street.

'spaz, all I can say is that I'm envious. There are lots of other words floating through my head that are completely inappropriate for a public forum, not aimed at you specifically but in general and fueled through sheer jealousy on my part!

That Dart is an absolute time machine. It doesn't look more than a week old.

Amazing.

Amazing.
I know, it had a polar white repaint two years ago and the body panels are super straight.

No rust underneath and no bondo.
I went over the whole car with magnets and found zero putty.

The drivers floor has some surface rust from leaky wiper pivot seals which will get replaced soon.

I will most likely keep the cuda away from the drag strip if at all possible since I really don't need to be breaking expensive parts. I'd much rather enjoy it on the street.

Gotta Love the A-Bodys!

I'm another one of those Daimler and Chrysler lovers (but not DaimlerChrysler)

My sis is an A-Body girl. she bough herself a 1970 Duster with a \6.
My dad has a 73 challenger
and I have the Charger

I have an A-B-E family LOL

Your cars look awesome. I've always wanted a Dart Swinger. about 4 years ago there was a Dart Swinger Diesel for sale here in sac. i should have bought it. it came from the factory with a Nissan Diesel. Chrysler was selling the Nissan Diesels in there boats in the 60s and 70s and someone ordered one in a Dart. how cool is that. I always wonder what happened to that car.

anyway. Cheers on your new ride.

if only i had the time to spend on both my charger and the SD... makes me sad. Oh Well.

NICE CARS

Dodge Swinger

I had occasion to rent a brand new '72 Dodge Swinger when my car was bieng repaired at the Dodge Dealer body shop in Sacramento.

What a fantastic little car it was!! Perfect for the times, a lovely little compact car, beautiful pattern on the cloth upholstery, nippy and stylish,
318 and the torqueflite transmission made it a hit, in my book. I was sorry to have to return it, made worse by the fact it was brand new.

I'd also had the use of a '71 Plymouth Roadrunner 383 manual, and that one was a LOT of fun - a real hoot. Say what you will about the crappy handling and braking of those supercars, they were sure lots of fun!!!

The '71-'72 Roadrunners IMO were the best looking midsize musclecar coupes of them all. I like the ideaa of the more upscale GTX more, but nothing could beet them for sheer good looks.

I'd have loved to try one with a 426 HEMI!!!!

The 67-69 cuda coupe has the sweetest lines of any American car since the 60s. It looks right from any angle. 66-67 Tempest/Le Mans/GTO coupe is a close second.
