on the medicare/SSI issue, i think every country should have such a system to help out people who have paid into it with their taxes.

I prefer to keep them out.

But what happens at retirement? They suddenly going to lose all the weight? More likely that it will cause them to develop health conditions which will manifest itself throughout their lives especially when they get older, say retirement time.

Better to do it yourself than invite an entity to take care of it for you.
