I'd come help if closer.

I put that same pine up on the ceiling at moms. Framers had the roof ridge line twisted so nothing was square. I had to scab to the rafter undersides and hang a new ridge to square things up for the finish work. Still, on the west side pitch it was 'pull the t&g tight on the north end, leave 'em loose on the south' to make it look right.

I feel your pain, Neck, back and knees.

I'd take you up on the help too.

Despite my framers being meth addicts, the structure is really true (diagonals on the foundation piers are <1/4" off in a 20' x 36' rectangle) so I haven't had to fight many 'squareness battles.' But, that ceiling of mine is far from perfect...if someone visiting has the balls enough to point out the gaps and irregular joints, I will personally escort them off the property at the pointy end of one of my Tony Lamas.

Good deal! Glad he's gonna be o.k. Thanks for the pix. If I leave now I can be there in time for the next GTG...

Probably nobody but you will ever notice the little imperfections. It looks nice. That is a hay bale construction, right?

I like the pink base trim.

Nice cows too.

Glad to hear he is ok, though I have to say the diagnosis seems a little funny. Slept with his wrist cocked at a wrong angle?

If he spends as much time typing on his computer at Mach2 like you stated, I'm surprised they didn't consider improper typing technique and/or arm placement at the PC as a more likely culprit - and a potentially reoccuring one if he is not typing correctly. If you type with your wrist at a bad angle, it's easy to get some nerve fatigue and/or damage. Tingling/numbness in the wrist/forearm is usually the first symptom.

Ditto the back pain is he isn't sitting properly or hunches over a lot while typing.

Just a thought...

Yeah, that was a paraphrase of what BIL told me. And, no doubt typing has plenty to do with it...

The back pain is due to stenosis of the spine and some injuries in the oilfield 30+ years ago.

I know now that the rest of the story is he's on a new nerve med for that back pain. When he first started on it last week, all he wanted to do was sleep. The dosage was supposed to double after a week. He took the new dosage of the med Tuesday night and decided to work a while longer, dozed off at his desk at some unknown time and my sis found him about 6 am. He was slumped over and she thought he'd died. Musta trashed the hand then.

I've heard of drunks passing out and doing that; it's called saturday night palsy.

He's no drunk but the end result is the same.

Makes sense...poor guy, seems like he is having a bad run, life is like that sometimes. You try to get up but life seems to gleefully enjoy each subsequent kick to the balls that keeps you from standing up straight again. Hope things improve!
